Pretty in Pink Spring Wedding Shower

My husband and I have had a LOT of weddings the past few years, but this summer we have two extra special weddings to attend: both of our brothers are getting married! Today, I hosted, with the help of my sister- and mother-in-law, a wedding shower for my brother-in-law’s fiance (whew, that was a mouthful–are you still tracking?). We’re happy to have her join the Crider family, and it was a blast to entertain both the bride- and groom-to-be’s  friends and relatives.

I’m sure I’ve mentioned before, I’m happily living here in Minnesota–up here we jump at the first sign of Spring. We’ve had an unseasonably warm winter and Spring has seemed to start early, so I went with lots of pretty pink and gold decor, and incorporated the cherry red elements I already had in my kitchen and dining rooms.

The menu was easy and delicious:

  • Chicken salad sandwiches on croissant rolls
  • Frozen fruit slush cups
  • Chips
  • Veggie platters with ranch
  • Mini vanilla cupcakes
  • Chocolate candy gems with brownie stuffing

After some time for food and chatting, we had everyone introduce themselves and how they knew the bride, played two games, and had the bride-to-be open her gifts. For beverages, we had pink lemonade, water, coffee and Dr. Pepper, which is the bride’s favorite drink.

Can’t wait to celebrate the wedding in June!
